Brazil. Campeonato Brasileiro. Serie A 2026: Brazil's calendar-year league, six hours behind Djibouti
Brazilian club football has its first division in Brazil. Campeonato Brasileiro. Serie A, called the Brasileirão by supporters and commentators. It is run as a league with no knockout stage: 20 clubs play every opponent both home and away over 38 rounds. The exchange with Série B put four new clubs into the 2026 field. Coritiba won the second division in 2025 and led the way up; Athletico Paranaense, Chapecoense and Remo took the other promotion places in second, third and fourth.
