Gems & Mines: uncover the gems, steer clear of the mines

In Gems & Mines, 25 cells conceal a mix of gems and mines, and you pick which ones to open. This mines game is part of the 1xGames lineup on 1xBet.

Gems & Mines - game poster

An "i" button sits by the top left corner of the grid, just under the game logo. The grid holds 5 rows of 5 cells, with a vertical tab down each side, the right-hand one leading to Autoplay, and a banner beneath it asks for a bet.

The more mines you add, the higher the odds for each gem cell opened. Here are the odds for the very first gem found, depending on that setting:

From there, each cell opens with a click. If it hides a mine, the game ends: the stake is lost, and so are the winnings earned during that round. At any point, pressing Take winnings ends the round and hands you the winnings gathered so far. With 12 mines, for instance, the first gem alone takes the odds to 1.88, nearly double the stake if you decide to stop right there.

Three counters under the grid track the round: cells opened out of 25, gems still hidden and a percentage marked with a bomb, while a banner shows the current winnings after every gem.

Autoplay, from setup to stop

  1. Tap the Autoplay tab.

  2. Set the number of rounds and click the cells to open in each one.

  3. Launch the series with Start Autoplay.

In every round, the marked cells open together on screen. The series keeps going until the chosen number of rounds falls to zero, and Stop Autoplay cuts it short if needed.

Gems & Mines and Apple of Fortune

Opening cells and deciding when to stop is also the core of Apple of Fortune in the same 1xGames range. There you climb 10 rows of 5 cells, one cell per row: a whole apple raises the winnings and an apple core ends the game. Gems & Mines puts everything on one grid, lets you open cells in any order, and leaves the number of mines, which shapes the odds, up to you.

Gems & Mines: questions about a round

Do the odds stay the same for the whole round?

No. They change with the number of mines and with how many gems are still on the screen, and every gem you uncover pushes the odds of your potential winnings up.

Does one gem with 4 mines match two gems with 2 mines?

Yes: both put the odds at 1.17.

With 18 mines, how much do the odds rise at the second gem?

They go from 3.5 on the first gem to 14 on the second, exactly four times as much.

Can I collect after a single gem?

Yes. Take winnings is available as soon as the first gem has been found.
